Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 26, 2026
Blip is a professional-networking app for people who ride the same transit. Privacy is the product: you're anonymous until you and another member both choose to reveal. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what stays on your phone.
What we collect — and why
- Account: your email and/or phone number — to sign you in and verify it's really you.
- Profile: the role, company, and details you choose to show, and an optional photo. Your name and photo are shown to another member only after you both reveal.
- Precise location: used only to detect which train, bus, or line you're on, so members on the same ride can find each other. We never display your exact location as a map pin to anyone.
- Usage & diagnostics: basic interaction and crash data, to fix bugs and improve the app.
What stays on your device
The precise direction and distance between you and a nearby member is computed on your iPhone using ultra-wideband and Bluetooth. That proximity signal is not sent to us or stored on a server.
What we never do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not share it for cross-app advertising or tracking.
- We do not show your identity to anyone without your mutual, in-app consent.
Who helps us run Blip
We use a small set of processors strictly to operate the service: Supabase (accounts & database), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Persona (identity verification), and crash/analytics tooling. Each handles data only to provide its function.
Your choices & controls
- Go invisible anytime, with one tap — no one can detect you.
- Access or delete your data: email support@blip.app and we'll delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
Age
Blip is for adults 18 and older.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll post the update here with a new date.
